ビートルズにインタビュー！
ビートルズが話題になり始めた64年以降アメリカで、忙しい時の人“ビートルズ”をスタジオに招いて
ラジオ番組を製作するのはかなり難かしかったようです。 そこでインタビューをする人の発言は空白に
なっているテープ、レコードが作られ関係者に配られました。 自分の声をその空白の時間にかぶせ、
まるで自分が目の前にビートルズを招いてインタビューしているような印象を与えるためです。
さあ、あなたもビートルズにインタビューしてみましょう。
時は1965年２月下旬、ビートルズはバハマで主演映画第2作目”HELP!”を製作中。
そこにあなたが訪れインタビューを試みるというわけです。 一回目は日本語で質問
してみましょう。 でもちゃんと英語で答えてくれますよ。

The Beatles : Hi, everybody. This is John here. This is Paul. George. And Ringo. And we’re
all very happy to be on your program once again.
あなた : 私たちのいる場所をみなさんにお話ください。
The Beatles : Well, we’re just talking on the set of the film we’ve just finished in Nassau,
Bahamas --HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP!
あなた : ジョンさん、新しい映画のタイトルはどうやって？
John : Out of Dick Lester’s mouth, it came : our director, friends
Ringo : I thought it came out from his shoe.
あなた : 何でこんなにもめたのですかね？ ポールさん、 最初は違うタイトルでしたよね。
それが最終的にHELPになったいきさつは？
Paul : ’Cause it was about the best, I’d say , just sounds right, you know.
That’s why.., you know. Help!, There you are.
George : It fits the story because...., you see、 people try to get us all through it.., you see
Ａnd so, we need a bit of help, you see.
John : Help!
ALL : That’s right.
あなた : この第２作目と一作目との違いは？
John : Well, it’s in color for a start and, I don’t know, there’s a lot more happenings
in this. There’s a story, you see in the last one. It was just a sort of documen-
tary but this is, a real film, almost..
あなた : A HARD DAY’S NIGHT と違う苦労はありましたか？ ジョージさん。
George : A couple of more problems, ..hahaha.., a couple of more, yes, because for a start,
we had a big idol and lots of things,...lots of trick things, you see but as we didn’t
have any trick things in the last film , did we John?
John : No, we didn’t , George, there weren’t any tricks in the last film.
あなた : この偶像にはリンゴーさんもが関係しているのですね。
Ringo : Yeah, yeah. I can’t tell you what the plot is, ..but here are some of the
questions we answered.

Two leading scientists hope to rule the world.
Paul is threatened by a beetle. B, double e-t-l-e.
あなた : どうなるのですか？ リンゴーさん。
Ringo : Ah，I’m chased by a gang of thugs all the way through it, actually.
John : Yeah, they seem to be chasing Ringo. And the two leading scientists who
hope to rule the world?!!. An the eastern beauty saves our lives time and time
it says here
George : All I can say is “Will John live to sleep, sleep in his pit again?”
Paul : Right. Or. for instance, “Will Paul ever get back to his united organ?”
Electronic organ, I mean.
あなた : もう映画に関してはベテランといってもいいくらいですね。 映画製作という
のはお好きですか？ 難しいことはありませんか？ ポールさん。
Paul : I think all of us really enjoy it. It’s something different., you know.
We’ve all forgotten about.. ... how difficult it was, or how hard it was sort of standing
round the set a all day. You forgot about.. ....things like that.. .. And it’s just nice
to be (sort of) doing something like a film, which is a completely new things for us .
really you know.,.. .. ..we only ever done.. .. .. one before this one. It’s just good
seeing rushes seeing a film get together, and seeing it.. .. .. sort of make itself, you know,
Yes, very exciting. Lovely!.
あなた : ジョンさん、 新曲が何曲かありますよね。
John : Oh, well. There’s about seven, I’m not sure. Ａｎｄ Paul and I wrote eleven.
And we chose seven out of eleven
あなた : タイトルソングは？
John : It’s called HELP you know. We think It’s one of the best we’ve written.
Paul : Sung at the beginning and the end of the picture. .. . .made at United Artists
with the help of Walter Shenson and Dick Lester.. .. ..one or two people we ought
to plug.. .. ..called Help!
あなた : 結婚には何を期待していますか、リンゴーさん。
Ringo : What do I expect? I don’t expect anything. I just love being married, you know.
And I love my wife . I just want her to be there all the time when I’m there
you know
あなた : ジョンさん今回の映画撮影はどこでですか？ この２作目ですが。
John : Well it took us to the Bahamas, Nassau. And we’ve been to Austria,. that is great
And most of it was done in London for us which is also great.. ..
あなた : ジョージさん、 世界のあちこちに行くというのは？
Ｇｅｏｒｇｅ : It’s not bad at all .. .. .. ..when you’re making a film.
あなた : さて2作目の映画が完成するわけですが、あなたたちコンサートはもう
というわけではないですよね。
Paul : No, of course, not. We’re doing a big tour, you know, in America. Uhh, I don’t know
how many cities. But it’ll be pretty hectic, you know. But it’s all good fun
We enjoy it. Filming, making records, concerts. You know us a laugh a minute HAHA
